Dhanya Wellness works to promote emotional healing and encourage people to develop a healthy lifestyle by teaching them how to awaken awareness, compassion, and wisdom through the practice of Mindfulness and Meditation.

For the most part, our mind is engaged in a continuous internal dialogue where the meaning and emotional associations of one thought triggers the next. Every day, our mind spins stories ranging from our home to workplace and everything in between. Quite often we are not even conscious of the internal dialogue unfolding in our mind and yet, it is the greatest source of stress in our lives.

The mind has a negativity bias, a tendency to pay more attention to negative experiences than to positive ones.

Mindfulness and Meditation are one of the best tools we have, to counter the brain’s negativity bias, release stress, foster positive experiences and intentions, and enjoy the peace of present moment awareness. Having a regular meditation practice produces tangible benefits for mental and physical health, including:

o Decrease blood pressure and hypertension

o Lower cholesterol levels

o Reduce production of “stress hormones”

o Improve immune function

o Decrease anxiety, depression, fear, grief, stress, trauma, and insomnia o Improve memory and attention

o Change bad habits and develop a positive attitude

How this works

Our mind connects us with the world outside. As we interact with the outside world, thoughts arise from our mind giving rise to feelings and emotions. Thoughts are just thoughts, not facts. They are an expression of the mind’s wandering habits. Most of the time they are “Fake News”! Instead of breathing life into them, we learn to focus our attention on an anchor, like the breath, and learn to witness the thoughts with a sense of non-attachment and non-involvement. By learning Mindfulness techniques to recognize thoughts and feelings, investigating them and gradually developing a sense of non-identification with them, we learn to overcome our old and unwanted habits. We develop a positive attitude and include acceptance, forgiveness, and compassion towards oneself and others.

"The mind is everything. What we think, we become." -Buddha.
